What safety equipment do I need?
Before you fire up a saw or even plug something in,
take a second and look around your shop.
If your safety gear isn’t nearby, you’re not ready yet.

PPE Personal Protection Equipment Every Woodworker Needs
Every woodworker needs a few basic things to stay safe and keep the projects rolling:
Safety glasses
Because even one flying chip can ruin your day.
Hearing protection
You might not notice the noise now, but your ears will remember later.
Dust mask or respirator
Sawdust in the lungs isn’t a badge of honour.
Work gloves
Great for moving lumber and rough stock. Just not while using the saw.
Steel-toe boots
One dropped board and you’ll wish you had them.
Apron or shop coat
Keeps your clothes (and skin) clear of glue, stain, and sparks.
Take an extra minute to suit up. It’s the best investment you can make in your woodworking safety.
